Kate Low is a New Zealand–born actor who completed her professional training in New York. She grew up immersed in the theatre world, performing in Junior Drama League shows with the South Canterbury Drama League and taking part in every holiday theatre program available. During high school, Kate was an active member of the Craighead Chorale and performed in senior productions with both the South Canterbury Drama League and the Aidan Theatre Company.
After graduating, Kate moved to New York for the first time to attend the Summer Conservatory at the Stella Adler School of Acting. The experience deepened her love for both acting and the vibrant city, inspiring her to return for more training. However, her plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Kate stayed connected to theatre, producing and performing in two touring seasons of Too Much Punch for Judy with the Aidan Theatre Company in New Zealand.
In 2022, Kate auditioned for and was accepted into the Atlantic Acting School’s prestigious Professional Conservatory, a program that has produced stars like Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Alba, and William H. Macy. Since her return to New York, Kate has performed in a variety of productions, including Codependence at The Tank, her New York debut in Thank You for Knowing Me, How to Build a Gate (a one-woman show that toured New Zealand), and Enron at Atlantic Theater Company, Stage Two, directed by Bobbin Ramsey.
Most recently, Kate performed How to Build a Gate as part of the Soho Playhouse Lighthouse Series, where it was selected as one of six finalists. She is currently developing the latest iteration of the show for the New Zealand Fringe Festival, where it will be performed at BATS Theatre from 17–21 February. Tickets can be purchased here.
